We are delighted to announce that the S’PORT has been successful in another grant application. This time to deliver extended outreach activities into Stockport’s primary schools to help children experience a taster of the wonderful sport of volleyball – and no doubt bring new recruits into our Club for those that seek to continue and have interest in playing.
The Grant came from the David Hopkins Foundation, a Trust established in memory to the former Chairman of Life Leisure whom our Chair, Adrian Stores, had the pleasure of serving on that Board of Trustees and Directors whilst representing Stockport Sports Trust/Life Leisure. The award letter commented: “It is a very worthwhile activity for the young people and their families”.
The David Hopkins Foundation accepts applications from any individual, group or organisation in Stockport for funding that will benefit their sport and help to make a difference to the provision of sport and physical activity, enabling more children and adults from any background to become more active and participate in their chosen activity.
